Hundertwasserhaus

Hundertwasserhaus (Kegelgasse 34-38, Vienna) – the Hundertwasser House is one of Vienna’s architectural wonders. Built during the mid-1980s by local architects by Prof. Joseph Krawina and Peter Pelikan, its colorfully decorated exterior façade draws attention to itself almost magically. Anyone who lives in the Hundertwasser House also has the right to decorate the façade around the windows entirely to his/her own taste. This makes the house on Vienna’s Kegelgasse even more lively. Over 200 trees and shrubs on the balconies and roof terraces make the Hundertwasser House a green oasis in the heart of the city. The Hundertwasser House can only be viewed from outside. However, a few hundred meters from the Hundertwasser House in Vienna is the Kunst Haus Wien, which is home to a permanent Hundertwasser exhibition. Admission: €10 (adult), €5 (students/children 11-18 years), free for children 10 years and under.
